The Gift of the Holy Ghost is the Iron Rod & First Comforter
I did not want to assume that anyone was connecting the dots between the iron rod being the “word of god” as given to one that has received the Gift of the Holy Ghost (after receiving a Baptism of Fire), so I took the time to spell it out and add scriptures to support that principle. This updated section can be found here. It is important to understand that the phrase “keep my commandments” in connection with receiving eternal life, exaltation, “enduring to the end” and the like is often referring to having already been sanctified (Baptism of Fire), received the Gift of the Holy Ghost, entered into “the way” or “path” toward the tree (eternal life; Second Comforter).
Jesus Christ is The 2nd Comforter
Originally, there were 8 different phrases referencing receiving the second comforter, Jesus Christ, Himself. Two (2) additional reference categories have been added:
On a personal note, it is amazing that, once you understand more context within The Doctrine of Christ including “the Gift of the Holy Ghost being the rod of iron” and “keeping His commandments”, some terms like “endure to end” and others that we may have taken for granted, misunderstood or not completely understood previously now take on a much deeper and clearer meaning.
