This is one of a series of posts about what is referred to as the war chapters in the Book of Mormon (chapters 45 through 62). The Kingdom of Light, the Lord of Light (Christ), the church of Christ, and the doctrine of Christ stand completely opposed to the Kingdom of darkness, the lord of darkness, the church of the devil, and the doctrine of the devil. The modern war chapters are being written as we speak. See with new eyes how the parallels in these specific chapters fulfill one of the three purposes of the Book of Mormon and it is a divine witness and a warning for each soul today.

CHAPTER 63 (About 56-52 B.C.)
Chapter 63 represents the end of an era. This era was accounted for by Alma and his sons, then preserved by Mormon, abridged by Moroni, preserved for almost two millennia, delivered by an angel, and then translated by the gift of the spirit:
11 Therefore it became expedient for Shiblon to confer those sacred things, before his death, upon the son of Helaman, who was called Helaman, being called after the name of his father. 12 Now behold, all those engravings which were in the possession of Helaman were written and sent forth among the children of men throughout all the land, save it were those parts which had been commanded by Alma should not go forth. 13 Nevertheless, these things were to be kept sacred, and handed down from one generation to another; therefore, in this year, they had been conferred upon Helaman, before the death of Shiblon. 14 And it came to pass also in this year that there were some dissenters who had gone forth unto the Lamanites; and they were stirred up again to anger against the Nephites. 15 And also in this same year they came down with a numerous army to war against the people of Moronihah, or against the army of Moronihah, in the which they were beaten and driven back again to their own lands, suffering great loss. 16 And thus ended the thirty and ninth year of the reign of the judges over the people of Nephi. 17 And thus ended the account of Alma, and Helaman his son, and also Shiblon, who was his son.
The Lord in His great wisdom preserved a record specifically for the purpose of helping us in the latter days. These really are the modern war chapters. Despite any normalcy bias we might have, we are in a battle for our personal liberties and freedoms. The reality is that the church of the Devil is very active in pursuing control and bondage over us. They have had much success but their plan is hardly complete.
